As part of the Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI) annual Artist Residency Programme, through the months of April to July 2024, we continued the development of I am finally in love with the world. This is the second iteration of the work where now, the performance is expanded to 40 minutes.

Following up to the question:

How do I finally become in love with the world?

What makes our experience of life more lucid?

We explored the meaning behind knowledge that one day, this world would come to pass

We drew inspiration from death haikus written by Zen monks:

From watching how a flower takes it’s time to die, to seeing how our subconscious talks to us via recurring dreams.

We wanted to put together elements of revelations that resembles the interior of the human mind for someone who is breaking through chaos and finally falling in love with the world.

“Powerful, evocative and cathartic, your presentation gave me another perspective of my grief. Thank you.” ~ Malcolm

“Completely captivating, moving, and mesmerizing. I felt connected with certain parts where the music and the body were one. It was beautiful.”

“I felt transfixed in the many clear and powerful stories and moments. The way the evening evolved felt very magical and yet real and visceral. I loved the way sound and music supported and flowed with the movement and stories.” ~ Tania
